William graduated from the University of Miami in 2015 with dual degrees in Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and in Playwriting, was one of four playwrights chosen to participate in Miami Dade County's 2015-17 Playwright Development Program, and was recently awarded a Knight Foundation New Work Miami grant to write, produce, and stage G7: 2070, a new immersive play, which premiered in it’s first iteration in October of 2023.

William Hector is currently the Festival Director for the upcoming inaugural Coconut Grove Theatre Festival, taking place this May 8-11th, 2025!

William believes his writing should be like this web design: clean, to the point, and include at least one dog.
